This is a personal technical blog operated by Carmine Bufano at carminebufano.com. It is not a commercial business. The policy below describes what data the site collects, why, and what happens to it.
Comments
When you leave a comment, WordPress stores the information you provide in the comment form (name, email, optional website) along with your IP address and browser user-agent string. This is used to display your comment and to help detect spam.
Spam protection
This site uses Akismet to filter spam comments. Akismet receives the same comment information described above and evaluates it against its spam-detection database.
Cookies
WordPress may set cookies to manage login sessions, remember comment-form details for repeat visitors, and provide basic site functionality. Logged-in users (which on this site means just me) may have additional cookies set by Jetpack and related services.
Analytics, security, and caching
This site sits behind Cloudflare for security, caching, and performance. Cloudflare collects connection-level metadata (IP address, user-agent, request timing) as part of providing those services. The site also uses Jetpack and Google Site Kit for basic analytics about page views and traffic sources.
Embedded content
Some posts include embedded content such as YouTube videos, GitHub snippets, or other third-party material. Embedded content from other websites behaves the same as if you had visited that website directly — it may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.
Data sharing
I do not sell visitor data.
